The Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Office of Acquisition and Business Services (ACQ) oversees FAA capital investments and other procurements, develops and implements acquisition policy, and supports FAA's mission by procuring systems, goods, and services.

FAA’s ACQ brought in BESS to ensure they could accomplish tasks consistent with the FAA Acquisition Management Systems and to maintain interoperability with the FAA Strategic Plan and other investment projects.

Our Solution

To meet these goals, BESS is responsible for establishing administrative support to the ACQ, which includes Business and Contracting (AAQ), Policy and Oversight (AAP) and Aviation Property Management (APM). BESS leads program management and provides office management and executive administrative support, directly managing six positions in Washington, D.C.

Our team develops, monitors, and evaluates administrative procedures to support multiple projects. We collaborate with team members and serve as a liaison between FAA contract officers  and all other personnel to ensure that duties are performed above expectation.

“BESS effectively manages employees and addresses all issues immediately to ensure the level of service continues at the high standard set.”

Our Results

Our work has proved essential to the successful planning, transition, and implementation of mission activities. The BESS management team remains engaged with on-site employees and promotes the retention of team members, providing continuity and reducing risk to ACQ operations.

The BESS team’s work spans a wide variety of activities to meet the specific needs of the ACQ, APM, AAP, and AAQ. We manage, plan for, and execute everything from administrative support,  event and meeting support to material asset management, and reviewing and editing Congressional letters.

Our initial work was so well-received by the FAA that our scope was expanded and BESS is contracted to continue working with the ACQ through 2028.

“BESS has gone above expectations as we have had to constantly pivot…The professionalism and dedication of BESS is appreciated.”
