The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare Systems (SLVHCS) provides quality, compassionate, safe health care to Veteran patients throughout 23 parishes in southeast Louisiana. SLVHCS consists of seven community-based clinics located in Slidell, Hammond, St. John Parish, Houma, Franklin, Bogalusa and Baton Rouge.

Within its Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Service, SLVHCS identified the need for support to recruit and staff qualified professionals, as well as a need for comprehensive program management services. They brought in BESS to execute an effective solution.

To ensure the VA healthcare providers have access to the finest skilled and competent staff to meet their diverse staffing needs, our team took full ownership of workforce management, handling everything from training and payroll to role development and employee assignments, as well as scheduling by utilizing our advanced Deputy Scheduling Software. We take great pride in offering medical professional recruiting and staffing services, alongside comprehensive reach-back capabilities and proficient Program Management Office (PMO) operations.

Prior to engagement, we conducted a thorough preliminary needs assessment with the SLVHCS leadership team, ensuring alignment between job descriptions and organizational needs, and presenting our recruitment rubric to transparently score candidates.

We conduct rigorous background checks, verify licenses, certifications, and credentials, and meticulously assess the qualifications and experiences of healthcare candidates to ensure they align with the exacting standards and requirements of the VA.
